AMERICA CAN’T FEED ITSELF

“Man, despite his artistic pretensions, his sophistication, and his many accomplishments - owes his existence to a six inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.” ~Paul Harvey, So God Made a Farmer

Rainbird Village and Rainbird Rising dwell in Utah, and for a purpose. There are very few states in the union that are more dependent on outside resources than Utah. We only grow 4%-6% of the produce that we consume. We worry about housing, but every time we put up new dwelling units, it makes us even more dependent. At Rainbird Village, we have been researching and planning for more than 12 years. We now have a whole-systems strategy for overcoming the problem.

America is good! Right? Well, not so much, it seems. Americans have a lot of food and health issues. The news is full of it… Make America Healthy Again (MAHA)… Big Ag, Big Chem, Big Med, Big Pharma, Big Food. Do you know who is BIGGER than the BIGS? You are…you heard me right, the populace is bigger than the BIGS. Do you care? Is health more important to you than money? The headwaters of all life is rich, healthy soil. Rainbird focuses on soil health.

“Bill Gates is buying farmland. China is buying farmland. That should get your attention, because when two very different power centers agree on one asset, it’s worth asking why. Bill Gates owns roughly 270,000 acres of U.S. farmland, not tech stocks, not crypto, not startups. At the same time China has been steadily acquiring U.S. farmland, hundreds of thousands of acres, often through layered entities and long-term structures.

This isn’t a coincidence, it’s positioning. Smart money moves quietly. Pension funds are doing the same. So are insurance companies. So are sovereign wealth funds. These institutions don’t chase trends, they protect capital, and they’re protecting the one thing you can’t print.

Food is becoming strategic.”  ~ Robert Kiyosaki

Food has no substitutes. Eight billion people need to eat every day. No alternatives, no real upgrades. Meanwhile arable land is shrinking, water is scarcer, topsoil is disappearing, and supply chains are fragile. That makes farmland a productive asset, not a speculative one. When systems are stressed, real capital doesn’t hide, it repositions. It moves into assets that produce cash flow, serve basic human needs, survive policy changes, and outlast financial cycles. Farmland checks every box. I’m not saying you need to buy a farm tomorrow. I am saying this, start thinking like someone who wants durability, not excitement. When you own things that feed people, house people, and solve real problems, you’re not speculating, you’re building something that lasts.

"Conventional agriculture as it is practiced actually depletes soil fertility and nutrients, requiring more and more chemical inputs, whereas  Agroecology regenerates soil health and nutrition naturally. What comes to mind is Big Ag's motto, ‘We feed the world.’ No they don't. Much of their stuff is shipped overseas, and it's primarily GMO corn, wheat and soy beans saturated with Glyphosate. The rest is primarily cattle feed. That's not feeding the world, that's poisoning it and our own diminishing soils. No wonder we can't feed ourselves!”

~ Harrison Quigley

Currently, most of our agriculture is extractive and expensive. With fertilizers, pesticides, and large machinery we have ill-gotten gain. It is a short term gain with a long-term loss. Rainbird is promoting Regeneration! Regenerative agriculture leaves the soil healthier and more productive with each round.

We hope that you will join us in creating a better, healthier, and more prosperous future. We are happy to have your moral support, but if you have the means, please DONATE.
